Astonishing and unbelievable rose. This is not an ordinary rose but extraordinary in every sense. If you plant this rose, it will look like you planted three different roses at the same time. Yes, you got it right : this is 3 in 1 rose indeed. Meaning it changes its color as it blooms. It starts from white, through pale pink to greenish color even deeper green color is possible if it grows in shade.

And this is not all, this type of rose is also very resistant to harsh weather. Meaning it can grow almost in every part of the world and can resist clod winters and hot summers. And there's more, of course, it is also disease resistant, has a mild fragrance and it is small in size. With this, it can be grown inside the house and is perfect for those who live in small apartments. All in all, this is a very grateful rose breed. And I recommend it to everyone who wants some plant, to bring some freshness inside as well as outside of the house.

Green ice characteristics

Here are some green ice specifications: bloom size is about 2''. They can grow around 16 to 25 petals on each bloom. It is a bushy plant, short around 1 to 2 feet. Soil ph preferences for this type of rose is from moderately acid (5.6 - 6.0) to slightly alkaline (7.4 - 7.8). It blooms almost the whole year around, spring, summer, and fall. It should be pruned: steam and tips. You can plant it in a 3-gallon container but if you plant them in a bigger container or outside, they will grow larger in size.

Planting tips

Tips for planting this rose are the same as for every other rose with the exception that this type of rose doesn't need to be watered frequently, which is another advantage. Plant your green ice rose immediately after you buy it. It prefers the sun. However, if you want your green ice rose to be more green then you can plant it even in shade. So the place of planting can depend on your desired petal color and green ice can give you that. You can read more detailed planting tips here where we wrote about Rosa chinensis viridiflora, which is another type of green rose.

They can be grown simply in the ground. However, their purple color is obtained by crossing. Getting a purple rose requires the hybridization of different types of roses already found in nature, such as white, pink, or red. The technical term for purple rose hybrid with purple hues is hybrid tea and cardinal hume roses, which have a deeper purple color than hybrid tea.
